The Northeast Oregon Compassion Center (NOCC) is a faith-based nonprofit organization that serves Baker City, Baker County, and surrounding areas in Eastern Oregon. NOCC provides a range of services to meet the needs of individuals and families in crisis, including food and clothing assistance, counseling services, and community outreach programs.

Our Food Bank is  open by appointment to ensure we can meet the needs of everyone who comes through our doors. To access these services:

• Food Bank: Open on Thursdays by appointment. Please call us by Wednesday at noon to schedule.

NOCC offers Family Counseling and Financial Counseling by filling out our Intake Form and then making an  appointment. Our counseling services provide guidance and support for individuals and families facing challenges such as relationship issues, financial stress, or emotional struggles. Our credentialed counselors are here to help you navigate these difficulties with compassion and professionalism. To schedule an appointment, please contact us. 

NOCC’s work is funded through a combination of private donations, community grants, and fundraising events. It is the direct contributions from individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community that support our services such as the Food Bank, Clothing Room, and Firewood Ministry. Your support makes a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

We are always in need of volunteers to help with our Food Bank, Clothing Room, and other programs. Our most urgent need is for a Volunteer Coordinator to help manage and support our volunteer teams. Whether you can help on a regular basis or for specific events, your time and talents are invaluable to our mission. Safe Families for Children (SFFC) connects families experiencing crisis with volunteer Host Homes that offer safe, temporary care for children. While the children are in care, volunteers work alongside parents to help them address the challenges they face. Participation is 100% voluntary, and parents retain full custody of their children throughout the process. SFFC's goal is to reunite families in a stronger, healthier home environment.
