December 2025 Community Update

Food Bank Success

Tuesday, December 23rd, we doubled up our food bank day and served over 171 families. This allowed the Compassion Center to close for the holidays. Thank you to all of our volunteers for doing an extraordinary job handling this amount of people in one day!

We Served Our Community

We served our community in the areas of:

• Rent and emergency housing: $2,250.00
• Utilities (electric, gas, water/sewer): $1,216.14
• Fuel: $40.00
• Propane: 10 gallons
• Food box distributions: people 734 / boxes 309

In addition, our volunteers blessed us with their time in the following areas:

• Caregiving support: 40 counseling hours
• Wood ministry: 4 fulfilled deliveries – 92 volunteer hours
• Food bank volunteer hours: 260.50

Announcements

December was a short month, but we made a huge impact on helping our community in the areas of food, emergency housing, essential utilities, wood, and a lot of prayer. We are blessed to be able to offer these services for our community!

On the Horizon

Make your plans to join us for our 2026 Annual Banquet, February 6, 2025. Tickets are just $25.00 for dinner and lots of entertainment! Get your tickets now before they sell out! If you would like to donate an item to be auctioned off, please drop off no later than January 23rd at The Compassion Center office.

Volunteers

WE NEED YOU!! As our food bank grows, we are in need of more volunteers. Our food bank distribution day is every Thursday except on holidays. If you have a few hours to volunteer on Thursdays, give us a call. A little bit of your time would go a long way in helping our community. This month we are recognizing Anita and John Remple; they are the dynamic duo helping out wherever they are needed. They have been a great addition to the NOCC family! Thank you so much for your service!! Volunteering in our food bank is always an adventure and there is never a dull moment!! God has blessed us with awesome volunteers and they all work so well together!! Thank you for all your hard work!!
